Christian P. Christensen, M.D

Hip and Knee Specialist

Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Christensen earned his medical degree from the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in 1992. He went on to complete his postgraduate residency training in orthopedic surgery at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, NC. He then performed a hip and knee adult reconstruction fellowship at New England Baptist Hospital in Boston from 1998-1999. He was the Head of Adult Reconstruction Surgery at The National Naval Medical Center at Bethesda from 1999-2003. He then moved to Lexington where he has worked at the Lexington Clinic and then Bluegrass Orthopaedics.

He is Board Certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He is an expert in minimally invasive hip and knee replacement surgery including direct anterior hip replacement and partial knee replacement. He also specializes in complex revision hip and knee replacement. He has authored numerous papers and made presentations at national meetings involving joint replacement. Dr. Christensen’s Hospital affiliation is St. Joseph East Hospital and Bluegrass Speciality Surgery Center.
